Invoice Match

Invoice and bank reconciliation

Every payment, matched to its invoice.

Paste your open invoices and your bank lines. Invoice Match reads the references people actually type, pairs each payment with its invoice, and shows what is paid, short by a fee, paid in parts, paid twice or still open.

What the statuses mean
Demo figures. Lines join invoices to the payments that settle them.

What it is

A free reconciliation desk. Two lists in, one clear ledger out, with the reason for every match.

Who it is for

Founders who do their own books, freelancers, bookkeepers and finance ops people chasing who paid what.

What it solves

Hours lost to almost matches. Bank fees, combined transfers, split payments and typos in references stop hiding open money.

Match payments

Paste CSV or columns copied from a spreadsheet. Headers are detected in several languages.

Number, customer, amount, currency, date.

Date, payer, amount, currency, reference.

No ledger yet

Load the demo to see a fee, a combined transfer, a split payment, a double payment, a currency mismatch and a stranger.

Everything runs in your browser. Your invoices and bank lines never leave this page.

What the statuses mean

Each invoice ends up in one of seven states, with a next step.

  1. Paid

Amount and currency match. Mark it settled.

  2. Paid less a fee

A bank or card fee took a small bite. Book the gap as a fee instead of chasing the customer.

  3. Paid in part

Money arrived but less than the invoice. Send a friendly note with the balance.

  4. Overpaid

More arrived than was billed. Refund the difference or keep it as credit.

  5. Paid twice

Two payments point at the same invoice. Offer a refund before the customer notices.

  6. Wrong currency

The reference matches, but the money came in another currency. Check the exchange or reissue the invoice.

  7. Open

Nothing matched yet. Send a reminder or wait for the next statement.

How to use it

  1. Paste both lists

Copy open invoices from your billing tool and the incoming lines from your bank export. Any column order works when there is a header row.

  2. Set your tolerance

Choose how big a fee you accept and how many days a payment without a reference can be from its invoice.

  3. Work the ledger

Settle the paid rows, book fees, chase balances and ask about unknown payments. Export the CSV for your accountant.

What it does not do

  • It does not connect to your bank or accounting software. You paste the data and nothing is stored.
  • It does not convert currencies. A payment in another currency is flagged, not guessed.
  • Matches by amount alone are suggestions. Check them when two customers owe the same sum.

Questions

Which references does it understand?

Full invoice numbers in any spacing, like INV 1042 or inv1042, and the number part alone when it has at least three digits.

Can one transfer pay several invoices?

Yes. If the reference names several invoices and the amount covers them, they are all settled as a combined transfer.

Is my data uploaded?

No. Parsing and matching happen inside your browser tab.
